So today we get the sad but unsurprising news that Artur Davis (a former congressman, former Democrat and former Alabamian) will campaign with Mitt Romney today in his newly adopted state of Virginia.

Maybe when Romney gets to the line of his stump speech about Obama abolishing work requirements for welfare recipients and just mailing out checks to those people, Davis will let out a genu-wine rebel yell like they used to do in Alabama when George Wallace got off a good one at the expense of “the welfare.”
