79 years ago today, the Oklahoma outlaw Pretty Boy Floyd was killed by the FBI. Woody Guthrie wrote a song comparing him favorably with capitalists and their hireling lawmen, and it was recorded by an awful lot of great singers. Here’s Joan Baez’ version, recorded in 1962.
