Sorry for an uneven day of blogging here at PA, but aside from my family medical issues, it was another Monday with more shouting than news. I’m proud that even on a difficult day, we still provide more content than nearly all the kids on the block.
Here are some remains of the day:
* So you’re Dick Cheney and who do you back in a public spat between your two daughters over same-sex marriage? The one whose own life is affected by it? Or the one pandering to conservative primary voters in Wyoming? Yeah, you guessed it.
* Rob Ford definitely believes a good offense is the best defense: he says he wants to become Prime Minister of Canada.
* George Zimmerman arrested yet again, this time for domestic violence.
* At Ten Miles Square, Rachel Cohen discusses research showing that talent transfer initiatives moving high achieving teachers into low-income schools shows potential results but is very difficult to engineer.
* At College Guide, Daniel Luzer explores the mystery of Gore Vidal’s bequest to Harvard.
And in non-political news:
* I’m finally willing to think about the most maddening ending of a college football game in living memory.
So I planned to close the day with one more tune from the Indigo Girls, who attended my own undergraduate alma mater of Emory University: “Galileo.” But wouldn’t you know it, You Tube is down. So I’ll put up the video when I can.
