Well, it’s time to wrap up Ultra Lite Blogging and attend to some family fellowship. I hope everyone’s had a good Turkey Day and taken the time to offer up thanks for life’s blessings and its challenges, too; they help keep us in touch with humanity in its many manifestations.
Here are a few more news/views items:
* Sign of the (high) times: an interview with the Denver Post‘s new “marijuana editor,” overseeing coverage of Colorado’s newly legalized cannabis industry.
* TPM’s Josh Marshall provides a detailed prophecy of Obamacare’s ultimate success.
* New York Times‘ Peter Baker offers a profile of the surprisingly obscure White House Chief of Staff, Denis McDonough.
* At Ten Miles Square, Jonathan Bernstein warns us political junkies again about overinterpretation of poll cross-tabs–you know, the kind that tell you Obama is in big trouble with married self-identified moderate Latinos or something.
* Also at Ten Miles Square, Seth Masket discusses new research showing that even in this age of polarization and “base”-dominating elections, parties pay a price for nominating extremists.
And in non-political news:
* For fans anticipating Saturday’s Auburn-Alabama game, there’s a listicle of the ten best Iron Bowls.
Tomorrow will be a Lite Blogging Day (though probably a bit more frequent than today). Here’s one more song of thanks, from back in 1967: The Scaffold with “Thank You Very Much.”
