Eric Cortellessa is the Investigative Editor of the Washington Monthly. Previously, he was the magazine’s Digital Editor. His writing has also appeared in the Washington Post, the Nation, Slate, the New Republic, and other publications. A graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Eric’s thesis project—a short documentary on criminal records as a barrier to employment—was nominated for a 2015 Emmy Award.
