Joe Paterno may have been fired from the university whose football teams he led for almost five decades but there are, apparently, no hard feelings.

According to an article by Anne Danahy in The Centre Daily Times:

Joe and Sue Paterno are continuing to support the Penn State programs that bear their name, even after his departure from the university.

Jack Selzer, director of the Paterno Liberal Arts Undergraduate Fellows Program, said the gift will help students supplement their education through study abroad, internships and research. “Their continuing support for the Paterno Fellows Program is both useful and inspirational,” Selzer said.

Their recent gift, incidentally, had nothing to do with sports. The couple reportedly gave the school $100,000. Half of it, $50,000, went to the library and $50,000 went to the fellows program in the College of the Liberal Arts.
