Well, it’s been quite the interesting day, and tomorrow we get two more big Supreme decisions, and probably a major spasm of conservative hysteria on climate change. Good times.
Here are some final items of this day:
* Texas Democrats on the brink of killing the GOP’s big abortion bill as the special session comes to a close. But there’s already talk of a second special session. The war on women is hard work, as G.W. Bush might have put it.
* Get used to hearing this from conservatives: Rand Paul says “the American people desperately needs immigration reform” as he announces intention to vote against Gang of Eight bill.
* On the other side of the barricades, John McCain brags Gang of Eight bill would create the “most militarized border since the Fall of the Berlin Wall.” Makes you proud, eh?
* At Ten Miles Square, Andrew Gelman and John Sides have some thoughts on the insta-famous Isaac Chotiner interview with the founders of Politico.
* At College Guide, Daniel Luzer reports that conservatives whose voucher schemes aren’t getting traction are switching to really, really large tax credits to attend private schools.
