* Fed announces more “tapering” of its stimulative bond-buying program, citing steady growth in the economy.
* As an escalation of the Texas Wingnut Competition, Rep. Steve Stockman reports he walked out of House during SOTU address last night. Nobody seems to have noticed.
* Buzzfeed reports “Year of Action” was the phrase local newspapers around the country most picked up in headlines on SOTU address.
* At Ten Miles Square, Jamie Malanowski finds a shill for one-percenters even more ludicrous than Tom Perkins.
* At College Guide, Daniel Luzer notes that over half of 27-year-olds in U.S.–all of them, not just college graduates–have college loan debts of more than $10,000.
And in non-political news:
* U.S. markets headed towards worst month since summer of 2012.

I’ve sort of run out of musical thematics, so let me just post this long-lost recording I ran across earlier this week, an impressive rendition of “Ol’ Man River” by a 1970s Louisiana boogie band named Potliquor. I actually owned this on vinyl back in the day, before I ever heard the iconic Robeson version.
