Nancy LeTourneau’s post on Barack Obama’s fine record of paying attention to Native American concerns provides about as eloquent an indirect talking point as you can imagine for discarding the southern fried trope of Andrew Jackson being (along with Thomas Jefferson) a founder of today’s Democratic Party.

Can one imagine anything more likely to make The Hero spin in his grave than the specter of an African-American president giving succor to Native Americans? I’m sure he would have considered it hell on earth, and a profanation of everything his party stood for.
