George Bunnell, bass player, songwriter, and yes, historian of the ultimate SoCal psychedelic band of the Sixties, the Strawberry Alarm Clock, was born on this day in 1949. Here’s the Clock lip-synching their immortal hit, “Incense and Peppermints” in 1967. I’d have to guess this video was the model for the “Listen to the Flower People” video in This Is Spinal Tap.
