Anyone who was surprised wasn’t paying attention. The endorsement of Donald Trump ally Geoff Diehl —the character who’s trying to unseat Senator Elizabeth Warren—by alleged moderate Republican and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker was as predictable as the outcome of former UFC star Ronda Rousey’s WWE matches. Party loyalty is thicker than water, and the idea […]

Warren’s Likely GOP Challenger: A Pain to Diehl With
Unlike John McCain, here’s one fellow who will never be confused for a statesman: [Massachusetts] State Representative Geoff Diehl, in an effort to ramp up immigration-focused attacks on US Senator Elizabeth Warren, [has] released a campaign video [asserting] that 20 people a day — or the equivalent of “over 7,000 people every year” — are […]

Geek Squad: The GOP Sends Its Weakest Against Warren
Look, I know Republicans have never been big on cleverness or wit, but certainly they could do better than this…word that rhymes with wit. Get a load of this hopelessly lame, hideously corny ad now contaminating television screens in Massachusetts, paid for by one of the junior-varsity GOPers running to win the September 4 Republican […]

This is What You Call “Assuming the Voters Are Idiots”
Every time a Republican claims to be “centrist,” he or she is attempting to pull off a con.

One Democratic Consultant’s Fee: Thirty Pieces of Silver
To quote the renowned Scottish philosopher Gerry Rafferty, I’m trying to make some sense of it all, but I see it makes no sense at all: [Massachusetts] GOP U.S. Senate candidate John Kingston quietly hired Democratic consultant and former Gov. Deval Patrick adviser Ron Bell to woo voters in “urban areas” — even as the […]

Elizabeth Warren’s GOP Challengers Have No Credentials and No Credibility
Like a championship team whose top rivals are nowhere in their class, it appears that US Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) will be facing off against a member of the GOP B-team next year. Apparently, the days of Republicans recruiting main-event players (Mitt Romney in 1994, Bill Weld in 1996) to challenge the Bay State’s senators […]

Republican Who Wishes to Unseat Warren Declares: I’m Not A Wingnut! Honest!
Oh, what a tangled web Trumpists weave when first they practice to deceive… Apparently, it has dawned upon the far-right Elizabeth-Warren-sucks crowd that taking Breitbart to heart won’t be enough to unseat the Massachusetts Senator in 2018. To that end, her expected Republican opponent, Trump disciple Geoff Diehl, is now trying another time-honored Republican tradition: […]

The Real Story Behind a Romney Aide’s Challenge to Elizabeth Warren
So, is this the best the Massachusetts Republican Party can offer? Longtime Republican operative Beth Lindstrom, a former senior aide to Mitt Romney and manager of Scott Brown’s victorious Senate campaign, said Wednesday she is considering a challenge to US Senator Elizabeth Warren. Lindstrom has held a series of conversations with top state Republicans about […]

The Other Wingnut Who Wants Warren
Hey, you can’t blame ‘em for trying. The right-wing hatred for Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) increases on an exponential basis, and like longtime Mitt Romney pal John Kingston, that hatred has motivated another far-right Republican to make an effort to unseat her: Republican state Representative Geoff Diehl on Wednesday took a stride toward challenging Democratic […]
