CONVENTION OPEN THREAD…. It seemed to be an inauspicious beginning to the Republican National Convention when Jo Ann Davidson kicked off prime-time coverage by telling a national audience how pleased she is that Sarah Pawlenty would be our next vice president.
Oh well. I guess Biden did screw up Obama’s name in Springfield a couple of weeks ago.
In any case, in this past hour, we’ve heard from Minnesota Republicans like Sen. Norm Coleman and Rep. Michele Bachmann. In the next hour, both President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush will address the convention, and in the 10 p.m. (eastern) hour, replacing Rudy Giuliani’s keynote address, we’ll hear from Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman.
I thought I’d open things up for some convention-related discussion. Any compelling moments so far? How’s the analysis on the cable networks? Is it me, or does the crowd seem a little thin in St. Paul tonight? Is anyone actually watching the convention?
The floor is yours.
