FDR…. Bill Kristol, on Fox News earlier, describing Sarah Palin’s career in politics after today:

“She has a future, she may not run in four years if McCain loses. Franklin Roosevelt, as a 38 year old, lost the vice presidential race. He became governor of New York and then was elected twelve years from [then]…. She reminds me a lot of FDR. I just said that so that can go — the left wing blogs can go crazy.”

For a while, Fred Barnes and others were comparing Palin to Ronald Reagan, but leave it to Kristol to crank things up a notch and go for FDR.

As for Kristol’s desire to drive “left wing blogs” “crazy,” I think Atrios summarized the problem nicely, in a short note to the Weekly Standard editor: “You don’t make us crazy, just our media system which promotes ignorant buffoons like you.”
