WHEN ‘DEBAUCHERY’ BECOMES ‘INTOLERANT’…. Last week, State Rep. Sally Kern (R) of Oklahoma became the subject of widespread ridicule for creating the “Oklahoma Citizen’s Proclamation for Morality.” It’s quite a document, blasting the United States for “promoting abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery.”

Kern went on to condemn President Obama for issuing an LGBT Pride Month proclamation that “disregards … biblical admonitions,” and falsely accuses the White House of failing to issue a National Day of Prayer proclamation.

Yesterday, Kern formally launched her campaign in support of her morality proclamation in Oklahoma City. Some critics were on hand for the event, and Kern didn’t seem to like it. (thanks to reader E.B. for the heads-up)

Rep. Sally Kern said the U.S. is drifting from traditional Christian values as she sought signatures for her petition at a state Capitol rally attended by about 250 people including ministers and their followers, four other state lawmakers, and protesters who shouted “shame on you” and “hypocrite.”

“You are seeing a wonderful demonstration of intolerance,” the conservative Republican from Oklahoma City said of the hecklers.

Ah, yes, “intolerance.” Sally Kern has compared homosexuality to “toe cancer” and said “it’s the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam.”

A wonderful demonstration of intolerance, indeed.
