Apparently Bryan College wasn’t good enough. Conservative pundit Glenn Beck is apparently opening his own university. My buddy Adam Weinstein over at Mother Jones gives a funny rundown of course offerings he’d like to see (“Let’s do some educatin’! Yee haw!”) at Beck’s school next fall.
Weinstein’s ideas for course titles include: Offerings include “Mythology 101: Fossils, Presidential History From Harding to Coolidge, Intro to Theology: Ayn Rand, Wilde, Proust, and Other Homosexual Europeans, Middle Eastern and Arab Cultures: What’s Up With That?” and, my favorite, “Studies in Moral Courage: Joe McCarthy.”
It’s probably worth pointing out that Beck University isn’t a real college; it’s just one of those discussion things online “offered exclusively to Insider Extreme subscribers.” Insider Extreme is a web subscription service where Beck fans pay $75 a year to obtain access to more Beck content and a fourth hour of his daily radio show.
So it’s roughly the scholarly equivalent of a personal development seminar, sort of like Trump University, the Dale Carnegie Course, or Hamburger University.[Image via]
