Erstwhile university administrator Donald Trump is apparently very annoyed with real university administrator Lee Bollinger, the president of Columbia University.
Before Columbia’s $6.3 billion plan to take over a large section of Harlem for Columbia’s use went through, the school was negotiating with Donald Trump to buy some Trump land on the Upper West Side near Lincoln Center for an alternative expansion. When Bollinger took over Columbia he said no to the Lincoln Center plan.
The Donald is still pissed. According to an article by Joy Resmovits in the Wall Street Journal, Trump said recently that,
Columbia University had a great opportunity to build one of its finest and most spectacular campuses anywhere in the world… What a vision it would have been…
In any event, Columbia Prime was a great idea thought of by a great man which ultimately fizzled due to poor leadership at Columbia. Just like the University of Michigan was lucky to get rid of Bollinger, so will be Columbia – someday in the future!
Bollinger is “a total moron,” added Trump.
According to Bollinger, under the new plan, “we now have far more property for far less money in an area we care about.” Bollinger’s taken on nastier foes. College Guide says he can handle Trump. [Image via]
