The University of Chicago is not generally known as a particularly fun school to attend as an undergraduate. The seriously intellectual school in a harsh climate is known by students as the place “where fun comes to die.”
Apparently students are trying to fix this problem a little. According to a piece at CBS Chicago:
A group of University of Chicago students have created a website called UChicagoHookups.com. The site offers students a chance to spice things up on campus by helping them hook up with other students for casual sexual encounters.
The site also carries the motto “Where Fun Comes To Thrive,” a play on the school’s unofficial motto.
The site advertises: “Chastity is curable if detected early.”
About 200 students have registered and apparently begun the process of sending messages to try and arrange encounters with other University of Chicago students.
At normal schools, of course, hookups occur when students meet each other at parties. But apparently that isn’t working so well for Chicago students.
“We’re trying to change the ages-old stereotype that UChicago students are severely sexually deprived,” explains the site. yes, because there’s nothing like a website to help arrange anonymous encounters to promote healthy sexuality.
No word yet on the quality of these sexual experiences. [Image via]
