I’ve decided to live-blog the “keynote” addresses at the Republican National Convention tonight, with perhaps a few glances back at earlier speeches of the evening (e.g., Santorum, Davis, Haley). So I’ll take an “intermission” now and will report back tonight, probably at about 9:00 p.m. EDT. This will also give me the chance to go to the doctor’s office in hopes of securing an antibiotic for what seems to be a really bad sinus infection. It’s the only downside to living in a climate where something’s blooming year-round.

The Washington Monthly was founded in 1969 to tell the stories of how government really works—and how to make it work better.
