I was not in the least surprised to find that my home state of Georgia had the most heavily Baptist House delegation of them all, with 9 of the 13 Members so affiliating. But then again, the district in which I spent most of my adult life before leaving Georgia is represented by one of the chamber’s two Buddhists (Hank Johnson). In living memory (1975-85), the same district was represented by a Jew (Elliot Levitas).
