I don’t often link to them, because their material is diffuse, and sometimes they just point to other sources, but after last night I just want to give a big shout-out to the folks at Daily Kos Elections, who prepare previews for and then run live-blogs of every major election, year-round, and offer daily updates of mind-blowing comprehensiveness.

I used to do this sort of work (not as well as DKE does it) for FiveThirtyEight back in its pre-New York Times incarnation, and know how mind-numbing it can get, particularly when you are covering races in places you aren’t personally familar with (at 538, I got used to spending every election night defending myself from charges of ignorance by locals from whatever state I was covering).

At any rate, if you are a true political junkie, and want to stay informed during this long election year, Daily Kos Elections is an essential resource–as is Political Animal, of course!
