Last night was the anniversary of the Great Fire of Rome that occurred on the night of July 18th, 64 CE. This is when Emperor Nero allegedly fiddled while Rome burned. As Bob Dylan sang, “Praise be to Nero’s Neptune, the Titanic sails at dawn.”
