They are coming.
A dark army of extremists ready to wipe out anything in their way.
They are coming.
A self-radicalized fifth column that has gradually infiltrated this country, quietly amassing power under the radar, just waiting for the right moment to strike with vehement force.
They are coming.
A well-financed radical cabal, committed to destruction in the name of their ideology.
They are coming.
Vicious fiends who couldn’t care less about the innocents that will suffer as a result of their brutal behavior.
They are coming.
Deranged, diabolical despots willing to inflict horrendous pain upon those they consider infidels.
They are coming.
Bold bastards who disseminate their perverted propaganda to the world on a regular basis.
They are coming.
They will not stop until they bend the masses to their will. They will not stop until every man, woman, and child kneels in subservience to them. They will not stop until every institution in this country—including the government of the United States—has been fully corrupted by their power. They will not stop. Which is why they must be stopped.
Their agenda is both simple and savage: the elimination of any and all potential limitations on the profits of the fossil fuel industry. To achieve this goal, they will effectively try to overthrow the current administration.
They have launched acidic rhetorical attacks upon those who have highlighted the threat these extremists pose. They have intimidated the media into downplaying just how dangerous they are. They are now preparing themselves to finally win an unholy war.
They cannot be allowed to win this war. This threat must be opposed. This danger must be neutralized. These extremists will not hesitate to poison the air, the water, the very atmosphere in an effort to advance their atrocious aims. Their radical clerics—Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity—will continue to urge them on until they have imposed a carbon caliphate upon the world.
Who will stop these enemies of humanity? Who will stand up against this axis of evil? Are there any moderate rebels willing to push back against these insane ideologues? Or will they just terrorize our children and grandchildren with impunity?
Imagine what would happen if these zealots are allowed to win. Millions will be dead. Millions more will be condemned to a miserable existence, fighting daily for food and water and shelter. Large sections of our world will become uninhabitable. Even the wealthiest will find themselves impoverished.
The ideology of these extremists can be narrowed down to six words: pain for others, profit for themselves. They are sick. They are sadistic. They must be destroyed, politically and culturally.
Two years ago, as New York and New Jersey struggled to recover from the chaos caused by the actions of these extremists, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes declared that Americans must fight back:
Carbon emissions are trapping extra energy in our atmosphere, and with extra energy come more extremes: higher sea levels, dryer droughts, hotter heat waves, and heavier, wetter storms.
We need a crash program in this country right now to re-engineer the nation’s infrastructure to cope with and prepare for the climate disruptions that we have already ensured with the carbon we’ve already put into the atmosphere, as well as an immediate, aggressive transformation of our energy production, economy and society to reduce the amount of carbon we’ll put into the atmosphere in the future.
This is as fundamental, as elemental as human endeavors get. The story of civilization is the long tale of crusaders for order battling the unceasing reality of chaos. And it is a kind of miracle that we have succeeded as much as we have, that airplanes fly through the air, and roads plunge beneath the water and the entire teeming latticework of human life exists in the manifold improbable places it does. But it is the grand irony that in imposing this improbable order on the world, we’ve released millions of years of stored up carbon into the atmosphere, which is now altering the climate and threatening the very monuments of civilization that we so cherish.
We absolutely have it within us, collectively, to beat back the forces of chaos once again. But we must choose to do so. And the time for choosing is now. You are either on the side of your fellow citizens and residents of this planet, or you are on the side of the storms as yet unnamed.
You cannot be neutral.
Which side are you on?
You are either with the advocates of climate justice, or you are with the extremists. There’s no third path, no middle ground. The advocates of climate justice want a livable world for future generations. The extremists want death and deprivation. All so they can one day stand amidst the rubble, raise their arms to the sky and yell, “Exxon is Great!”
They are coming.
They must be stopped.
They cannot be allowed to win.
