The sublime Sandy Denny, who died at 31, would have been 68 today. There are not a lot of accessible video recordings of her, but here’s a good one, with Fotheringay (the band she formed after leaving Fairport Convention), performing “Gypsy Davy” (a Woodie Guthrie version of the traditional Scots ballad often called “Black Jack Davy”) in 1970.
