In case you missed it, this is Women’s Equality Day, the 95th anniversary of the certification of the 19th Amendment extending the franchise to women. We’ll reach the 100th anniversary in 2020, a presidential election year, a decennial census year, a sort of political triple witching hour when it comes to consequential moments.

It would be rather appropriate to have a woman elected president by then, wouldn’t it? There’s nothing wrong with starting a bit early, just to be sure.
