Recent events in Washington have unsettled old and comfortable assumptions about how the federal Legislative Branch functions and how it deals with Executive Branch and with the pressures associated with the party system. So if you are in Washington, you might consider attending an event at the R Street Institute featuring some well-known figures–including our own Paul Glastris–that will examine the future of Congress. Here’s the formal meeting notice:
Restoring Congress as the First Branch
The effort to find a new Speaker of the House has people on both sides of the aisle asking serious questions about the future of Congress. This event is being hosted by the R Street Institute.
