* Here’s another clip from Trump’s call-in interview with Fox and Friends this morning:
“Comey is a leaker and he’s a liar.” –President @realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/w0PffjZN8k

Think for a minute about what he said here:
Oh, [the Comey memos] — well, it’s totally classified. And he also leaked the memos which are classified. Nobody unclassified them. And those memos were about me, and they’re phony memos. He didn’t write those memos accurately. He put a lot of phony stuff.
Trump is claiming that the memos were both phony and classified. Does that have anyone else scratching their head about how they can be both?
* Here’s another little gem from that interview:
So anyway — so Comey leaked and, by the way, also what he did with CNN in order to placate them, you saw that whole scenario. This is a big mistake, this book. He is guilty of crimes, and if we had a Justice Department that was doing their job instead of spending $8 million trying to find —
DOOCY: It’s your Justice Department. Mr. President — Mr. President, you’re the Republican in charge —
TRUMP: You’re right, yes, you’re right.
DOOCY: You’ve got a Republican running it.
TRUMP: But here’s what — I answer this all the time. Because of the fact that they have this witch hunt going on with people in the Justice Department that shouldn’t be there — they have a witch hunt against the President of the United States going on — I’ve taken the position — and I don’t have to take this position and maybe I’ll change — that I will not be involved with the Justice Department.
Matthew Miller responded with this:

* I’m old enough to remember when Donald Trump accused Hillary Clinton’s staff of being corrupt when they asserted their 5th amendment rights.
Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, filed a declaration in federal court on Wednesday asserting his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination in the ongoing lawsuit filed against him by porn star Stormy Daniels.
“Based on the advice of counsel, I will assert my Fifth Amendment rights in connection with all proceedings in this case due to the ongoing criminal investigation by the FBI and U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York,” Cohen said in the court filing.
* While all of that is going on, the planet remains in critical condition.
More than a thousand low-lying tropical islands risk becoming “uninhabitable” by the middle of the century — or possibly sooner — because of rising sea levels, upending the populations of some island nations and endangering key U.S. military assets, according to new research published Wednesday.
The threats to the islands are twofold. In the long term, the rising seas threaten to inundate the islands entirely. More immediately, as seas rise, the islands will more frequently deal with large waves that crash farther onto the shore, contaminating their drinkable water supplies with ocean saltwater, according to the research.
The islands face climate-change-driven threats to their water supplies “in the very near future,” according to the study, published in the journal Science Advances.
* Finally, Tom Toles captures the irony perfectly.
