UPI has reported (and the White House has of course denied) that Pentagon hawks were all pressing to go after Syria when the Iraq war ended, but Karl Rove put the kibosh on the idea because it might hurt the boss’ reelection chances.

The White House has now acknowledged what TAPPED reported yesterday: the Abraham Lincoln was only 39 miles offshore yesterday, so the normal helicopter ride to get there would have worked fine. They lied earlier when they said the ship was so far offshore that a jet was the only way to get there.
