THE PASSION OF THE ARNOLD….After his drubbing at the polls in last month’s special election, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger decided he needed to pretend to become more liberal. As part of his conversion to the “New Arnold,” he hired Gray Davis’s former cabinet secretary, Susan Kennedy, as his chief of staff.

Grass roots Republicans are furious. Their answer? Try to draft Mel Gibson to run against Arnold in the primary next year.
