The recent Forbes magazine ranking of American colleges, which College Guide covered on the weekend, had a little trouble distinguishing between the two Wheaton Colleges.
The Forbes entry for college number 244 (which appears to be based on statistical information about Wheaton College: evangelical, in Illinois, founded 1860) featured contact information for the other Wheaton. The Forbes entry for college number 59 (seemingly based on statistics about Wheaton College: formerly a women’s college, in Massachusetts, founded 1834) featured contact information and pictures for the wrong school also.
Forbes appears to have since corrected the error.
One of these schools should seriously consider just calling itself a university. This is getting absurd. [Image via]
