Maybe it’s just that the coffee hasn’t quite kicked in yet, but I’m quite enamored with this lede from The Hill:

If Sarah Palin had been on the ballot for the straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference, there is little doubt she would have won.

So, an impromptu contest: Who can write the best sentence in this style? It has to be both true and pointless. Stick ’em in the comments. Winner gets recognition in a future post.

I’ll start: “If unicorns existed and were great bowlers, surely the Professional Bowlers Association would be dominated by unicorns.”
