A few light hors d’oeuvres from the pantry for your mid-day snacking:

* Apparently responding to complaints that he’s Mitt’s Secret Special Friend, Ron Paul includes anti-Romney line in ad slamming all his opponents.

* Another poll (this one from U of Cincy) comes out showing Santorum with double-digit lead in OH.

* In other, less ephemeral, polling news, authoritative Field Poll shows support for same-sex marriage in CA has greatly increased since passage of Prop 8 (RVs now favor legalized gay marriage by 59-34 margin).

* Also in the Golden State, U.S. House Rules Committee chairman David Dreier announced his retirement from Congress, another “victim” of the state’s new independently-run redistricting system.

And in non-political news: a report on the plight of “leap year babies.”

As I reported yesterday, I’ll be offline attending a family funeral through tomorrow. But Jesse Singal is in the kitchen for the rest of today and tomorrow, and will keep you well fed and informed.

See you all Friday.
