This campaign came from the European Commission, which is working on a plan, called “Science: it’s a girl thing!” to try to attract more women to study science. This is probably not the way to do it.

The Commission released the official teaser video on Youtube but quickly took it down after viewers objected and wrote negative comments. “This is the Most Sexist ‘Science is For Girls’ Ad We’ve Ever Seen” wrote Laura Stampler at Business Insider, reflecting many viewers’ opinions.

Note: dancing in science laboratories in high heels is not actually recommended by real scientists, even if they’re women.
