Apparently in support of the recent reinstatement of University of Virginia President Teresa Sullivan, UVA alumni have created a tie. For $85 you too can show your support for Sullivan.
According to a piece by Lucien Zeigler at Guest of a Guest DC:
Alton Lane, the upscale custom clothier founded by UVA alumni Colin Hunter and Peyton Jenkins, announced today a special tie in support of UVA’s recently reinstated President Teresa Sullivan.
Through this weekend, 100% of the profits from the tie, which is made from 2-ply Egyptian cotton and retails for $85, will be donated to The University of Virginia President’s Fund For Excellence.
Here it is:

The President’s Fund for Excellence “gives the University’s president the capacity to launch special initiatives, to meet pressing needs as they arise, and to capitalize on emerging opportunities to strengthen academic and student-life programs.”
In past years presidents have used the fund to retain UVA professors offered more lucrative contracts at other colleges as well as support research that might lead to large grants for the university.
Nice tie anyway, though I’m not really sure what the pattern has to do with Sullivan.
