I wonder if it occurs to Jennifer Rubin that in the aftermath of 9/11, conservatives told Bill Maher to shut up and cost him his job. Does she remember the backlash against the Dixie Chicks when they said they were embarrassed by our president? Does she recall when Andrew Sullivan accused the left of being a fifth column supportive of terrorists? It’s awfully rich to accuse liberals of telling people to shut up when most of us actually lived through the Bush administration and many of us were on the receiving end of abuse and questions about our patriotism.
