Tomorrow will be a long day for me given both a busy schedule of family chores and tomorrow night’s primary watch. Let’s hope there’s some actual news to talk about while we’re waiting to see if African-Americans in Mississippi save Thad Cochran.

Here are some remains of the day:

* Speaking of Mississippi: Team McDaniel making hay with infelicitously worded statement by Cochran’s daughter suggesting the challenger “relies on Jesus Christ, the Constitution and common sense.” Could have only been more helpful to McDaniel if she had thrown in college football and fried food.

* At Salon, Rick Perlstein blames Democrats for allowing Right to regularly deploy language of armed revolution.

* Greg Sargent argues that only comprehensive immigration reform can reduce the kind of confusion that has led to mass border crossings by Central Americans.

* At Ten Miles Square, Bill White argues for financing Medicare through taxes rather than borrowing.

* At College Guide, Conor Williams discusses efforts to make Common Core standards work for Latino students.

And in non-political news:

* Pope Francis announces Italian ‘Ndrangheta mafia family is “excommunicated.”

That’s it for Monday. Let’s close with Sonny Landreth performing “Promised Land” with Eric Clapton at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2010.
