The rock musician Paul Revere was born as Paul Revere Dick in Boise, Idaho on this day in 1937. Paul Revere and the Raiders, with Revere on keyboards and Mark Lindsay on vocals, were a big deal in the immediate post-British-invasion American rock scene. Revere died just this last October. Here he is with the Raiders on Hullabaloo–with Michael Landon hosting–performing “Steppin’ Out” in 1965.

UPDATE: BadBob: As it happens, I featured the Stripes on Meg White’s birthday less than a month ago.
