Levon Helm was born on this day in 1943. Here he is with a partially reformed version of The Band performing “When I Paint My Masterpiece” at the 30th anniversary celebration of Bob Dylan’s career in 1992. Dylan wrote the song, but The Band was the first to record it, on Cahoots.
