No offense, but there’s nothing much I like about Boston except that my mom and sister both live there, and it’s my mom’s birthday on Friday.

So that’s where I am headed, and not here sharing the day’s best news and commentary with you like I usually do.

But not to worry — all things go as planned I’ll be back on Tuesday, bright and early.

Meantime, check out RealClear Education, Politico’s Morning Education roundup, or Larry Ferlazzo’s blog and tweets for lots of good stuff to keep you going.

The Washington Monthly was founded in 1969 to tell the stories of how government really works—and how to make it work better. Fifty years later, the need for incisive analysis and new, progressive policy ideas is clearer than ever. As a nonprofit, we rely on support from readers like you.
